"I couldn't believe my luck when I came across this listing. I was looking to get out of the city with my dog. I wanted to be in the woods, but with beach access and a short walk/drive to good coffee. I figured I'd have to compromise on one of those desires, but then I found this listing. First, it's a GORGEOUS house. Floor to ceiling window facing the water, beautifully decorated, and the bed might be the most comfortable mattress I've ever slept on. The kitchen was well equipped, as was the house in general. It's clear the hosts put a lot of thought into what a traveler might need while staying there (they even left dog toys and pet potty bags (which was nice because I ran out!) The area was PERFECT. Enough away from "town" that I didn't feel like a tourist, but close enough it was easy to do some shopping, and grab a bite to eat. The best part though was the hiking trail behind the house that heads all the way down to the water. It's a little steep, but I'm not an expert hiker and I did just fine and my dog absolutely loved it! I'm always a little stressed traveling with my dog, even though he's a good boy and potty trained — but Hillside Haven was perfect for a pet companion. The floors are cement so paw prints don't show and there's plenty of room outside to run around and sniff. My dog loved sitting in the big window watching the deer (there are a lot of deer) and bunnies run past. The neighbors were all lovely as well! (Unlike some places who seem to resent having a vacation home on their block.) One neighbor offered me pears from their tree! I worried the house might be too big for a solo traveler, but I couldn't have been more wrong. I mostly kept to the main floor, other then to use the well equipped laundry room upstairs, and it was the perfect retreat. I read, I wrote, I cooked. I stared at the water for hours. I felt my shoulders finally relax. I was the perfect week to unwind and get centered. Just me and my dog. The hosts were communicative, but not overwhelming. There's a great welcome book with personal recommendations from them (and for the most part, I agreed! You must get the scones mentioned in the book!) I would absolutely book this stay again! Five stars from start to finish! "

"Beautiful home that sits on a hill overlooking Puget Sound. The huge windows were great for viewing wildlife and watching the tides go in and out. We especially enjoyed the trails to take a hike right out the front door of the home. The patio and outside landscape were gorgeous. As for the inside of the home it had all the amenities we needed and was super clean. We look forward to staying at Hillside Haven again!! "

"We had a great time with our 2-year old, and a small dog. There are small tags throughout the house, which shows that Vanessa puts a lot of thoughts on creating a great experience. Having a crib was super convenient for us, and the piano by the window was a great surprise, and our little one enjoyed playing with it."

"We had a really lovely stay in this home. Perfect for a romantic, quiet getaway, BUT also would be perfect for a family getaway. We cannot wait to bring our kids! This home is very comfortable, clean, unique and oh so beautiful. I have never seen more organized & responsive host! There is so much we loved about this home, from the beautiful living room view window to the hiking trails that lead all through the beautiful forrest. We wanted to be tucked away and comfortable and we got just that! The EV charger was a cherry on top! Lots of sleeping areas throughout the house to bring a group too. Only 15-20 min away from Langley and only 7 min away from a beautiful walkable beach! Lovely stay! Thank you so much!"

"We had a lovely time at Vanessa and Eric’s Hillside Haven! They have truly thought of everything you might need, with helpful labels everywhere, a full kitchen, extra toiletries, and a thoughtful guidebook with local recommendations. We enjoyed playing tunes on the upright piano and some time in the dry sauna as well. It was easy to grab the trail behind the house and take it down to Possession Beach. We loved the views! We couldn’t recommend staying at this Airbnb more."

"Woooooow!!! What an incredible house and location! Beautiful design, lovely, welcoming landscaping, a stylish but homey feel inside and FANTASTIC views. We have stayed in lots of Air&B's but this is now our favorite. It's nestled in the woods in a great neighborhood. There are these really cute hiking paths behind the house with plenty of little wood benches along the way, water stations for people and dogs and this wonderful, tranquil feeling. Though it's on a hillside, it's really easy to load in from the driveway, which is even with the front door. The house is very easy to navigate and well stocked. We brought our dogs and they loved the house. They're kinda finicky but they were all in on this place. They also loved the nearby beaches we went to and hiking in the woods (and the deer!). The host, Vanessa, was super nice and when I had a couple of questions she got right back to me. We will definitely be coming back!!! Thank you Vanessa for sharing this gem of a home with us!"

"We had such a lovely stay and would love to re-visit! The property looked just as beautiful and pristine as in the photos and was a perfect place for a cozy stay. The house is in a quiet spot, with beautiful views of the water, and within a short drive of great restaurants and shops. It was ideal for us to have a relaxed vacation while still being in close proximity to local amenities. The property had great facilities and the hosts had really thought of everything with extra supplies and helpful instructions. Highly recommend a stay!"
